It works well, but as the data grows you notice slowdowns in your application. In this session, we'll cover things that will help you optimize your queries. We'll follow the lifetime of queries briefly through the optimizer, read execution plans, and look at how the query cache can help us speed up our applications. We will also take a look at when we should use subqueries over joins and some of the new tricks that the optimizer has learned in the 5.0 release.
