MySQL is ready to take a serious role in the data warehouse. With it's speedy execution, extensive set of built-in functions, and solid data import capabilities, it has all the relevant features of competing proprietary databases. Building a data warehouse is not rocket science, but it takes a different approach even for experienced database developers.

This tutorial focuses on building data warehouses using MySQL. We're going to dig into why MySQL is a good choice for data warehousing, the basics of building an order-focused data warehouse, and the specifics of using MySQL data warehouses, particularly in the 10-100 GB range.
