SessionOptimizing MySQL on Source Code Level
Vadim Tkachenko, Performance Consultant, MySQLPerformanceBlog.com
MySQL Server is a very complex and performance critical multithreaded application. Developing such an application has a number of challenges. This session shows how to analyze the performance of a multithread application on Linux/Unix operation system, identify problems, and show possible solutions. Included will be tools and approaches efficient for profiling multithreaded applications on multiprocessor systems, source code instrumentation practices, tools for profiling and monitoring; and typical mistakes in synchronization implementation as well as ways to improve synchronization.
We will also demonstrate the usage of tools like VTune, O_Profile, Sun Thread Profiler for hot spot detection, as well as how particular optimization affect performance using MySQL Benchmarks.
Attend this session if you want to be able to analyze MySQL Server performance on code level or if you'd like to learn about performance optimization of multithreaded applications. |
