This session discusses migrating a large system based on Oracle to a highly distributed MySQL-based system. It covers the architecure, design, and development of the system and also migration of a tera byte of data from Oracle to MySQL. We used all open source products in developing this system: LAMP (Perl, PHP), Java, Hibernate, MySQL, Nagios, and have implemented a hierarchical MySQL replication consisting of three levels.
