Building a data warehouse is not rocket science, but it takes a different approach even for experienced database developers. This tutorial focuses on building data warehouses using MySQL. We're going to dig into why MySQL is a good choice for data warehousing, and the basics of building a data warehouse with MySQL, particularly in the 10-100 GB range. We'll also cover other tools in the open source space for delivering data warehouses to end users, such as the Eclipse BIRT project.
