Each of these environments shares several challenging traits: doubling or tripling of data set size, query rates, and write rates in a matter of months with little or no room for significant downtime. At Technorati, his work is focused on developing reliable data systems that can scale to meet the demands of 10's of millions of writes per day, represent up-to-the-minute changes in the blogosphere, support arbitrary queries and searches, all while coping with a data retention policy of "never delete anything."
