Session

Using Triggers and Events for MySQL Administration and Auditing

Tobias Asplund, Instructor and Performance Tuning Consultant, MySQL AB

Track: Security and Database Administration
Date: Thursday, April 26
Time: 2:30pm - 3:15pm
Location: Ballroom B

In MySQL 5.1 there are a few new interesting features that open up a new series of possibilities for monitoring and auditing. This session will look at some different techniques to track usage statistics and do custom auditing, how the event scheduler can help us track server-wide statistics and log summary data over periods of time, and how to maintain where your log files go to tables using events and partitioning.

This session is for a seasoned MySQL database administrator or maintainer that wants to be able to get more customized information about data usage and user patterns from the database.
