Session

Developing for .NET Using Visual Studio

Reggie Burnett, Software Developer, MySQL AB

Track: .NET/Windows
Date: Wednesday, April 25
Time: 4:40pm - 5:25pm
Location: Ballroom D

Microsoft Visual Studio forms the hub of .NET development. Developers around the world use the Visual Studio tools to develop everything from simple web sites to enterprise-grade applications. MySQL is the database of the future and we have a committment to make sure .NET and Mono developers can leverage this database in their code.

Visual Studio exposes a set of APIs that allow a database vendor to integate. This API is called DDEX. MySQL now offers a DDEX provider and is working hard to increase the level of integration between our products and Visual Studio.

This session will demonstrate the various functions of the plugin including simple database management. Application design features of DDEX will be used to build a MySQL-enabled application. Future levels and plans of integration will also be discussed.
