Building Database Clusters with Middleware -- Continuent uni/cluster

Robert Hodges, CTO, Continuent, Inc.

Track: Products & Services
Date: Wednesday, April 25
Time: 11:50am - 12:35pm
Location: Ballroom H

Database clusters are a critical building block for applications that are both scalable as well as highly available. This talk will explain how clusters can be constructed using middleware, as exemplified by Continuent's uni/cluster product. The talk will compare the middleware approach to other architectures and present key trade-offs that system architects should bear in mind when designing cluster implementations.
