DRBD (Distributed Replicated Block Device) is a shared-nothing replication technology for the Linux operating system, allowing users to run fully redundant cluster architectures using only commodity hardware and open source software components. DRBD performs storage replication and synchronization at the block level, providing excellent performance and making it a highly flexible solution for any workload requiring high availability, including relational databases like MySQL.
In this session, the presenters will unveil some of the magic behind DRBD, provide insight into DRBD deployment scenarios, and cover exciting new features of DRBD Version 8, released in January 2007.
