Brian Aker is the director of architecture for MySQL when he helps set direction for technology and looks for opportunities to harness and shape the
MySQL database for efforts in Web, OEM, and telephony. In his copious amounts of free time he works on Apache and Perl modules, and hacks on the Asterisk Telephony System (hence, never has a working home phone number). In the past, he has been involved with projects for the Army Engineer
Corps, The Virtual Hospital, Splunk, and Slashdot. He lives in Seattle with his dog Rosalynd.

Michael Anderson
Anderson is the Chief Architect of the Unisys Strategic Program Office for Open Source. Mike is responsible for providing thought leadership and strategy globally for the entire Unisys open source offering. He was the Chief Architect with overall design authority for the Unisys Next Generation Messaging solution for major services providers worldwide. Johan Andersson
Johan Andersson is a Principal Consultant with MySQL with a focus on High Availability and High Performance Clustering. Hampton Catlin has been developing web applications since high school
and recently fell in love all over again with the web when he found
the Ruby on Rails platform. Before that, he helped develop a
distributed data crunching system to help Nasa analyze satellite
weather data. More recently, Hampton is the inventor of the Haml
markup language, Sass (Haml for CSS), and the LetIt::REST Rails
modules. He is also co-author on the "Beginning Rails" book by Apress.

John Ioannidis, the Chief Architect of Packet GENERAL, has been on the cutting edge of technology for over two decades. In 1993, John saw a growing need for network security and co-invented swIPe, the predecessor to IPsec. Now IPsec is commonly used by vendors to provide commercial security solutions. John is considered an authority in many areas of security; he has over 50 publications and has given numerous invited talks. Ken Jacobs
Since 1981, Mr. Jacobs has held a variety of technical and management roles at Oracle. He is known as "Dr. DBA" to thousands of Oracle database administrators, and has been a prominent spokesperson for Oracle and an advocate inside the company for customers' interests. Mr. Jacobs has helped guide the development of the Oracle Database product over the years. Lars Thalmann
Dr. Lars Thalmann is the technical lead of replication and backup
technology at MySQL. He is leading the design and development of
MySQL Backup and the second generation of MySQL Replication with
features like cluster replication, row-based replication, conflict

Heikki Tuuri
Heikki Tuuri is the creator of the InnoDB transactional storage engine in MySQL. He founded Innobase Oy in 1995 and is the CEO of the company. Tuuri still does much of the InnoDB support and bug fixing, though most of the new code in InnoDB is written by other Innobase Oy developers. Ari Valtanen
Ari Valtanen has more than 17 years experience in professional software development and delivering innovative products. He co-founded Solid in 1992 and held various senior level positions within the research and development team until 1999. Valtanen served as the company's chief technologist from 1999 to 2000, and as director of product management in 2000. He was named Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in 2001. Valtanen served on the Solid board of directors from 1997 to 1999. Prior to co-founding Solid, Valtanen worked as a developer, architect and consultant in both start-up and established software companies for a number of years. He completed his Master's Thesis while working at the Technical Research Centre of Finland.
